Red Ribbon Week

On Wednesday, Log College students gathered to hear Mr. John Halligan present Ryan's Story, an assembly about the dangers of bullying, cyber bullying, and their devastating effects on children and families. Later that evening, Mr. Halligan spoke at Klinger Middle School to an audience of Central Bucks and Centennial School District parents/guardians, delivering a similar message.

Students had a wonderful time at the annual Fall Dance - there were some cool costumes, great music, and of course the best dancing middle schoolers this side of Easton Road!

Log College is pleased to announce the return of its annual “Take a Veteran to School Day” on Friday November 3rd at 9:00 a.m. Click https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n77o2j3mWzdHd1f8IenVI405Ga3L46ou7wbHzUUvd2U/edit?usp=sharing to learn more or to register a veteran participant.

In 8A Science, students are currently diagnosing a sick patient and learning about how the metabolism uses molecules to release energy in the cells. The process of cellular respiration will be modeled and run on an actual simulator that depicts the systems of the body. The simulator follows molecules in a healthy person, as well as persons with different diseases. Students will also be exploring how the metabolism and molecules are affected by diabetes, a pancreatic injury, anemia and asthma. Students will use the simulator and molecules as well as patients data to diagnose a patient who is ill.

Mrs. Schenfelt's 6th grade Introduction to Art class is learning the basics of drawing. They just finished up their "warm-up" drawings of animals by following a step-by-step process. Students are learning to break down complicated subject matter into simple elements of art like shape and line in order to draw with correct proportion. Great work by some talented artists!

7th and 8th Grade FCS students completed breakfast labs this week. Each class chose either pancakes, scrambled eggs, or fruit smoothies. Students utilized measuring skills, communication, and teamwork.

Congratulations to 7th grader Alex S. on being selected for the PBIS September random drawing! All students who received a ticket in the month of September were eligible for the drawing, and Alex was our lucky winner! Keep up the great work, and remember to Live Safely, Own Responsibility, and Give Respect!

Just a reminder that Fall sports have begun. Well-behaved students are permitted to stay and watch home games but must take the late bus at 4:15 or have their own ride home following the game/match. You can find our current Fall schedule here.
