4th Grade Science with Mr. McIntosh
Looking Back -
I know that many students will be sad to finish our unit on planets, moons, and the sun. That doesn’t mean that we can’t continue to research and bring those topics to class. If this is where your primary interest lies in science, keep going! We only scratched the surface of astronomy. We will work next into topic about energy in all its forms and applications (See Looking Ahead)
Looking Ahead –
As we move away from studying the sun as the source of our daylight, we will now look at it as the source of almost all energy in our daily lives. This unit on energy and its uses will take us into deeper topics of physics in the coming weeks. It will be fascinating to explore!
Special Note: You will see two more Stride Science lessons on your weekly schedule. Try to devote one hour (or two 30 minute sessions) to these lessons each week.
Science News for the Week: Do zombies really exist? In the world of science, there are creatures (sometimes tiny creatures) that control the behavior of other animals. We know them as parasites, and they are often quite clever in getting their hosts to do their bidding. No, parasites don’t come back from the dead, but read this article to see what kinds of amazing things they can control.
