A National Day of Remembrance

On Friday, September 9, 2022, 400+ students at Franklin Boys Preparatory Academy participated in great lessons by Social Studies teachers Mr. Silva, Mr. Kain, and Mr. Stepp, about the causes, events, and impacts of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks. These teachers focused on the role of firefighters and each student researched a firefighter who died on that tragic day. Most students created a biography for their firefighter and placed it on the back of the placards which were made possible through a grant from Support The Troops, Inc., items donated through Donors Choose, and with the skill and care of Speed Pro Signs and LabelValue.com. Each class came out onto the front lawn and helped place placards for all 2,977 victims. City of Tampa Fire Rescue Station Engine 10 came by the school to see the display and speak with students about the impact of their work.
