July was a peach (See what we did there?)
Mike and I hope that you have been enjoying your summer. There have been a lot of wonderful things happening here at school- summer school, Camp Invention, hiring of staff, cleaning, gardening, PTO discussions about playground and fundraising. Mike and I have enjoyed some time off, too, but we also have enjoyed seeing students and staff throughout the summer.

PTO Boosterthon
Mike and I met with the PTO on Tuesday to discuss the upcoming school year. There is only one fundraiser this year and if you couldn't tell from the title of this paragraph, it's called the Boosterthon. Information about this will be provided to parents during registration and Open House. There are a couple of dates we need you to put on your calendars as soon as possible. The first is Tuesday, September 20th at 8:15 in the Little Theater when we will be having an all staff meeting to learn more about the Boosterthon. The Boosterthon begins on Monday, October 10th with a kickoff assembly and culminates on Thursday, October 20th with a fun run. More information will be provided as we get closer to the dates.
Summer Academy
Don't forget about the Summer Academy dates of Monday, August 15th, Tuesday, August 16th, and Wednesday, August 17th. More information about these dates and times will be provided soon. Mike and I are looking forward to learning right along with you.
Welcome to Michelle Scardino, Becky Pizzo, and Vickey Moore!
We completed our staffing this week by hiring Vickey Moore, a speech pathologist who comes to us from Elmbrook. Earlier this month we also hired Michelle Scardino, a math teacher from Elmbrook. Becky Pizzo joins our Primary team as a third grade teacher who last taught at Swallow. We will make sure they introduce themselves during the Summer Academy.
If you have a moment...
Here is a link to my latest blog which is really a compilation of some things I've found on Twitter or Facebook over the last couple of weeks.
