Dear Parents and Students:
I hope you are enjoying the remaining weeks of your summer break. It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the 2021-2022 We are excited to begin our 5th year at Alloway Creek! The staff has been working hard preparing and they are extremely excited about your arrival. The building has been cleaned and polished and is ready for students! Please be reminded that the first day of school is August 19, 2021.
The teaching staff have been planning and prepping for the first day of school, and they assure us that if need be we can start school early…just kidding. However, they are prepared for your arrival, and look forward to working with each student to meet their individual needs as the year progresses. To facilitate your child’s growth, teachers will be using the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. This computer based, benchmark assessment will occur three times throughout the school year, and is designed to determine a student’s learning level. Moreover, it will monitor student growth. Please see the back of this letter for additional information regarding MAP.
Alloway Creek Elementary School uses multiple programs and practices as we work to meet the needs of each individual student. Furthermore, we believe our mutual investment in children, families and community will guarantee that our quality of life will continue and prosper throughout the twenty-first century.
Please understand that a vital component of our school is the support of our parents and community. Alloway Creek is fortunate to have parent volunteers who donate their time working with students and sponsored school activities. Our PTO coordinates activities throughout the school year. We welcome parents to assist us during these events. We realize the vast importance of parent involvement in student success, so we ask that you be an active part of your child’s life.
