It has been a great week here at DKMS! We have gotten our second trimester off to an excellent start!

I would like to congratulate our Student of the Term award winners:

5th Grade: Aubree Curtis, Chase Isom, Abel Sexton, and Leland Wiley

6th Grade: Rider Caldwell, Meara Cook, Trace McCoy, and Riley Thurman

7th Grade: Robbie Bever, Scarlett Payne, Nariah Ramsey, and Oakley Ross

8th Grade: Brayden Campbell, Owen Rogers, Emily Stevens, and Willow White

We hosted our Student of the Term award winners and their families to a continental breakfast and award ceremony on Wednesday morning in our cafeteria. I would like to thank our students for doing an excellent job representing our SK2R values and also our staff and families for showing support to these students during our ceremony. Keep up the great work Panthers!

Regular attendance at school is vital to our students' academic and social success at school. We understand that sickness and appointments do happen from time to time. Please make sure you are calling our attendance line (269) 623-1540 if your child will not be attending school. When your child returns to school, please make sure they are bringing in documentation (doctor's note, appointment confirmation, etc.) if it is an excused absence. Also, as a reminder that calling your child in does not make their absence excused. We need documentation to make it an excused absence.

On Thursday December 7, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the high school LGI, our middle school band, directed by Sarah Knight, will be having their winter concert. Please come and support our great middle school bands.

As always, I want to thank our staff, students, families, and community for making DKMS a great place to be! Everyday I am truly amazed and inspired by all of the great work everyone is doing in our district, school, and community!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Delton Ski Club, a fantastic opportunity for individuals aged 7 and up, including adults, to come together for a winter filled with fun and adventure!

Details:

Open to ages 7 and up, including adults.
Family-friendly activities.
We will host at least 5 events at Timber Ridge for Delton Families. (Dates TBD)

Delton Kellogg Middle School is proud to offer resources to our students that need help with assignments. One of our dedicated teachers is available to help with questions and provide guidance on available resources. Tuesday's, Mrs. Tyner is available to assist students and Thursdays, Mrs. Estep helps students. Students can catch up on past due assignments or utilize this time to build skills for successful study habits.

Kickstart Update for 2023-2024

Beginning this year, KickStart is asking that any deposits of $20 or more be clearly marked by a parent or guardian expressly stating it is for the KickStart Program. We want to ensure that the money being sent with your children is designated for their account and not for another school activity.
