This week is our Be Here, On Time Challenge Week! All k-5 students who are at school all 5 days on time will get a reward for their attendance. Help your students by making sure they go to bed on time and get up on time in the morning to get to school on time. Our doors open at 7:20 am and school starts promptly at 7:45 am.

It's the final quarter of the year! It has not been a normal year, yet our staff and students have worked so hard this year. We are proud of our Bayyari Bears! Let's finish strong.

This week is ACT Aspire testing in grades 3, 4, and 5. See more information in this newsletter about this testing. This is our state assessment that measures student progress on grade level standards.

Spring Pictures and Class Pictures are coming up in a couple of weeks. Spring pictures will be ordered online. See below or our Facebook posts for order information.

Mark your calendars for our next important testing dates. All of our students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will be taking our state standardized test the week of April 5-9. All students, including blended learners, will test all five days this week. Plan on sending your child to school every day that week if they are blended. If you have appointments for this week, we ask that you reschedule them to not interfere with your child's testing. Although we offer make up testing sessions when students are absent, it is always best for students to test with their peers and teacher.

Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a good breakfast at home or school, and is on time for testing each day next week! We know your children will do their best on this test.

39 students leveled up in Lexia this week! Lexia is a fun way to allow students to work on their reading level and "level up". Ask your child what they are working on in Lexia. They are adding so many skills to their reading belt, but we want to make sure they transfer over from the computer to apply in all of their reading and writing.

Please remember to fill out the COVID form at go.sdale.org/covid if your child has been exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID or if they are positive for COVID. Also, please let Nurse Cara or the office know.

Currently, masks are still required for school. Please make sure your child is wearing their mask to school in the mornings.

Are There Benefits for Children Having Friends?

We all know that it feels good to be able to share life's moments with someone. Our children feel the same way. Children being able to make and have friends are a vital part of growing up. Having good friends as a child can help them develop self-confidence and a positive self-esteem. Believe it or not, having friends can actually make you healthier! Children need to learn how to develop friendships and manage them on their own. It is important that parents help their children learn how to have positive social skills from an early age. Children learn by watching their parents as role models with their friendships. Children should be encouraged to find friends with similar interests or shared hobbies. Parents can also help by teaching communication skills. Communication is the key to lasting friendships.
