A Message from the Principal
Dear Eccles Community,
During this season of gratitude, I wanted to say thank you once again for the many ways you support your students and our school. We wish you the best over Thanksgiving Break.
Sincerely,
Kelly Rogers & the entire Eccles Staff
Holiday Drives
As we wind down our Holiday Drive I wanted to give you an update on where we’re at supporting our local community. To add a little spirit to the coin drive for students, we have created two different collection boxes—one for the Ducks and one for the Beavers. Currently, the Beavers are well ahead of the Ducks in our coin collection competition: $223.93 to $131.67! There’s still time next week, come fill the containers to show the care we have for our Canby community this holiday season. Thank you for your generosity so far, and good luck to your team this weekend.
The tree tags are up! If you would like to participate in the toy drive, come check out our tree in the office. It’s full of tags with suggestions for toys. You can bring any new or unwrapped toy to donate by December 1st!
All of these efforts are in support of the Kiwanis Canby Community Food & Toy Drive, an event that has been serving Canby families for more than 60 years. Thanks for supporting Kiwanis!
Food Assistance
While this time of year is filled with excitement and wonder for children, it can be stressful for adults. More expenditures and higher costs can add to the strain. In the library we’ve been talking about how sometimes we are able to offer help to others and sometimes we are the ones to ask for help. If you find yourself needing food assistance, below are some resources available in Canby. Please view the organizations’ website or call for details.

Important Reminders
As we've fallen into grooves and the holiday crazies are upon us, we'd like to remind families to send students with water bottles and jackets each day. For health and sanitary reasons, the mouth spout of our drinking fountains have been turned off, but the water bottle filler is still on.
If your student is in need of assistance with these items, please don't hesitate to reach out to the office staff at (503) 263-7120 or eccles-office@canby.k12.or.us.
Health Reminders
As school begins and we are starting to enter the cold and flu season, please remember to review our district and school health 'stay home guidelines'. If you have any questions about whether a student should stay home, please don't hesitate to contact the office and we can put you in touch with our Health Assistant or District Nurse. We appreciate your help in keeping not only your student, but all other students, staff and families healthy this school year.
Meals at School
Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced-price meals, and we now offer expanded income guidelines to qualify more families. If you plan to have your child eat school-provided breakfast or lunch, please fill out a Meal Application online at https://www.ode.state.or.us/apps/frlapp - Our district ensures that our nutrition programs are easily accessible to all families.

Meals will always be provided to students, no matter their application status or meal plan balance.
