We are now in the homestretch of the school year! There are several fun activities and learning experiences on our calendar such Understanding Others Day and Field Day. However, the SC Ready Test is just two weeks away for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. With that in mind, here are some tips for you to help your child finish the year out strong.


  1. Consistency is key. Continue checking to make sure your child is completing homework and classwork assignments each day. Starting each morning off with breakfast whether at home or school helps to ensure your child enters the classroom ready to do their best.


  1. Keep expectations high. As your child prepares to end the school year, push him or her to continue striving for greatness! They can do it with your support!


  1. Set a goal with your child. Ask your child of a goal they would like to achieve before the end of the year. It could be finishing a novel of their interest, or increasing their grade science. There are numerous possibilities, but the goal should be one that your child is interesting in meeting.

PTO Needs Your Help!

It is that time of year that we are seeking volunteers to serve in key roles on our school PTO. Our Parent Teacher Organization supports many facets of our school. We hold many events each year that have become traditions to our students. The PTO fundraises each year to help provide exciting opportunities for students. There is so much to be done on PTO and your help is needed!

Decades of research have shown that when parents are involved in their child’s education, kids are more likely to:

-Excel academically

-Attend school regularly

-Have increased social skills

-Show a positive attitude towards school

Beautification School Cleanup Day

Our SIC, in partnership with our Green Steps committee, is hosting a Beautification Day! Please bring the family and join us for a morning of gardening and litter pick up on our grounds.
