Dear BES Families

The Blytheville School District is one of many districts across Arkansas that has been approved through the Arkansas Department of Education for use of Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days to be offered during the 2019-2020 school year. The approval of our AMI plan allows the opportunity for all elementary students to continue to be engaged in learning on emergency days or those that weather conditions prevent school from being in session.

AMI packets for days 20-29 will be utilized for instruction from April 20th - May 1. You can pick them up from the Blytheville Elementary Welcome Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM each day and on Fridays from 9:00 - 12:00. The school will only be open on these days. Packets will also be available on our Blytheville Elementary School Facebook page, Twitter and district web page www.blythevilleschools.com.

Other instructional resources that can be utilized as a supplement:

www.myarkansaspbs.org - Arkansas PBS has altered its regular television programming to provide age-appropriate educational content to promote activities that students and families may use to practice existing skills, learn new topics, and interact with one another in a meaningful way. It looks like a regular PBS show and is very engaging to kids of all ages. The time slots are 8:00-9:30 K-2, 9:30-11:00 for 3-5 and, 11:00-1:00 for 6-8. There is access on the website after 4:00 PM on the same day of the broadcast.

Feeding Our Students

These stations will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Beginning Monday, April 20, on Mondays, breakfast and lunch items will be served for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesdays, breakfast and lunch items will be served for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
