Dear Emerson Families,
A huge thank you to the PTO, the volunteers, and all the families that came last night to our Movie Night. It was such a wonderful event and it was so great to see everyone! Even the rain couldn't keep the fun away!

6th Grade Boo Bash
The 6th grade social will be the annual Halloween Boo Bash. It will take place in the MRP after school on October 13, 2023 from 3:15-5:00pm. We are asking that students wear costumes to the party (please no makeup, masks or weapons). The PTO will provide pizza, snacks, and drinks. There will be a DJ, games, and prizes to be handed out. To make this event fun and successful for the students we are asking for help with a few things.
Please consider donating any of the following:
1. Time - please sign up on the PTO website to help volunteer for the event.
2. Candy - please purchase bags of peanut free candy and drop them off ASAP so that we know what we have for prizes.
3. Gift cards - please purchase gift cards (any denominations). Kids love Amazon, Target, Starbucks, etc.
Please drop off donations at the Emerson front office, or at the Pissios household at 808 N. Washington Ave in Park Ridge.
Any questions please contact Ronda Pissios at (312) 927-1764 or email at rpissios@yahoo.com
Got Legos?!
LEGO Club is looking for donations to expand our collection! If you have any old LEGOs that you would like to get rid of, please box/bag them up and drop them at the main office for collection. Any questions can be directed to Ms. Briggs at nbriggs@d64.org.

6th Grade Health Requirements
As a reminder, the State of Illinois requires all 6th graders to submit a health exam dated after 8/23/22 on a State of Illinois form by the end of the school day on Friday, October 13th to avoid exclusion. Please don't forget to complete, sign and date the health history at the top of the second page. This part is really easy to miss and is a required part of the exam.
Immunization records, including proof of the Meningococcal and Tdap vaccines, are required for all 11-year olds.
Please note, all health forms must now be uploaded to PowerSchool. Once you have done this, check back to make sure the documents were approved. The required forms are available at www.d64.org, under Families > Health Services. Completed forms should be uploaded into Powerschool under Health Office Document Submission.
Students not in compliance with this regulation on or before the end of the school day, October 13th, 2023 will be excluded from school attendance beginning Monday, October 16th, 2023.
PowerSchool and Schoology Instructions for Parents

Drop-off of Student Items/Lunches
Reminders from the Emerson Green Team
Though we have QUEST food choices during lunch, many students bring lunch to school. We highly encourage waste-free lunches. To reduce waste, please consider the following as you pack your child’s lunch:
-Please pack your child’s lunch in a reusable lunch box or bag (not paper or plastic bags).
-Use reusable containers for sandwiches rather than foil, plastic wrap, etc.
-Buy snacks in quantity and transfer them to a reusable container.
-Put drinks in a child-friendly thermos rather than sending throw-away juice boxes, etc.
Thanks!
