A Message from Mr. Wood
Regardless of our age, we are constantly learning and developing. For our school-age students school is the place where we are learning how to read, write, do math, and become lifelong learners. Students develop key relationships and learn important social skills, for all of this to happen students need to be present each and every school day.
Attendance is critical because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. We realize there have been many challenges presented due to COVID this school year, and appreciate everything you have done to partner with the school. As we head into the final 8 weeks of school, we ask that you help us prioritize having our students in their AM/PM cohorts daily.
The time the students are at school is filled with language arts and math, making it difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent. We are excited about the learning that is taking place in the classrooms and look forward to a great end of the school year.
Thank you for continued commitment to EY this school year.
Mr. Wood
A Few Reminders
Face Coverings: As students are getting more comfortable, it's important that we help them remember to wear their face covering at all times. Face coverings are a cloth, paper, or disposable face covering that covers the nose and the mouth. Please do not send face shields to school.
If you have any questions about these reminders - or anything else - please contact the office and we are happy to help.

Kindergarten celebrated Earth Day!
Over the last couple weeks we have also learned about plants and how they grow. In one of our most recent ELA units, we even got to learn about the life cycle of a tree! We were really excited to explore the trees growing here at school and found lots of acorn seeds outside. We then took one of those acorn seeds we found and wanted to see if we could help it grow! Amazingly, we have gotten to watch it grow from a seed, to a sprout, and into a seedling! Our hope is to see it grow into a sapling before the end of the school year! The Kindergartners were so excited to declare themselves, "Earth Day Superheroes!" this week when we talked about ways to care for the planet - One of those things being, planting trees!
