Uplift Luna Primary

As promised, we would like to update you about the plumbing issues we experienced yesterday on campus. The ongoing construction outside of the building appears to be the cause of our plumbing issue and the City of Dallas will be working through the weekend to make repairs. Unfortunately we don’t believe the issue will be resolved by the time school begins on Monday.

While we always want to prioritize learning, we also realize this is short notice and it's hard to make plans for childcare or miss work with short notice. Keeping these factors in mind and to avoid additional make up days in the future, we have made the following plans to continue with the school day on Monday:

After a normal morning carline we are planning to bus K-1 scholars to Uplift White Rock Hills, 7370 Valley Glen Drive, Dallas, TX 75228 for a normal day of instruction. Uplift White Rock Hills has been nice enough to offer classroom space and your child’s teachers will accompany them in the bus and in the classroom. We decided on this option because K-1 classrooms are located in areas where repairs are required. Additionally we wanted younger scholars to have access to bathroom options that were quickly available.

Because these classrooms were not near areas requiring repair, we will continue our school day as normal inside the building. We will block Laws street and provide air conditioned, portable restrooms with running water in front of our school, for scholar and staff use. The image is an example of what will be available. A security guard will be posted outside of each restroom to ensure scholar safety.
