THIS WEEK'S VIRTUE CHALLENGE!
Justice
Anna Maria Rubatto reflected justice by giving an education to children, and helping where she was needed rather than putting her own aspirations first. As one of eight children, there were certainly times she had to sacrifice so her family could have what it needed.
What Is It?
moderation between selfishness and selflessness – between having more and having less than one’s fair share
Linked to charity since it helps regulate our relationship with others.
“If you want peace, work for justice” is a quote by St. Paul VI
Live It Out!
This week, consider what you have that is more than you need. Are there others in greater need?
Share what you can with charitable organizations
MASS CONNECTION
Call & Response
During much of the Mass, the priest will pray and the congregation will respond. This is not meant to be a him and us, but rather a conversation with God. It serves as a reminder that the congregation is active in the prayers at Mass, and it reinforces our relationship with God. Just as justice is a balance between selfishness and selflessness, the Mass is a balance between action and listening.
This week, whether you are at Mass in person, or watching a live-stream, participate in all of the responses; notice how that changes what you experience during the Mass
BREATHE!
Tip of the week: slow down
5 months into this pandemic we are beginning to notice a few things: we are embracing more simplicity, our bodies are getting used to a quieter pace, we have screen fatigue! This week, give yourself a breather by sitting in the stillness. Avoid the temptation of your phone, embrace your empty schedule (even if you are missing it) and sit outside or in your favorite spot in your home and just BE...it may have to come early in the morning or late at night, when all others are asleep but it will be worth the moment. Slow down and BREATHE.
Other ways to slow down:
- take a walk alone without looking at your phone or putting in headphones
- get up before dawn and watch the sunrise
- keep the TV off and read a good book or article
- turn off your phone

CREATE!
Find a big piece of paper and some tempura paint. Put on your messy clothes and head outside. Pour the tempura paint into a disposable pan. Get your feet in the paint and start to create! Can you make a flower garden with butterflies? What can you make with your feet?! As you paint, think about all the great things you could do for your community as the FEET of Christ! What can your family do to help others this week?
