Lubbock-Cooper Central Elementary

Central Elementary received 4 grants from the Lubbock - Cooper Education Foundation this week! Congratulations to our grant recipients:

Kim White - $1,800 for Ukuleles to use in Music

Whitney Jones- $2,200 Mobile Magnet Wall for our STEAM class

Colter Cox & Terri Vaughn- received $10,000 for guided reading books

Lauren Houk- received $7, 795 for heart rate monitors to use for PE activities

We are proud and honored to receive these grants and put them to use for our students!

Congratulations to our First Year Teaching Candidates! This week we were able to celebrate them and all they have accomplished so far this year!

Taylor Jackson, Nicole Hwozdek, Jordan LeBlanc & Gloria Urteaga. A big thank you to their mentors: Taylor Owens, Kristi Peeples and Kelsey Morris.

Our 5th grade students have been learning all about animal adaptations and how animals are suited to survive in their ecosystem. They are also learning that everything has a niche or role in their environment.
