This week: One Focus- The Value of an Email Signature
👩🏫Educator Spotlight: Melissa Kavanagh👩🏫
Ever heard the phrase "It's nice to put a face to the name"? There is some quality to seeing someone's face in building a sense of inclusion and opening opportunities for access.
One way you might consider to put a face to the name is adding your headshot to your email signature. Don't take my word for it, ask Ms. Kavanagh at GHS about how it has smoothed her transition as a new-to-the-district teacher this year.
Melissa joined the GHS English Department this summer. As a new teacher, she was worried about building relationships with students, parents and colleagues. In addition to all of her other strategies was to build an eye-catching email signature that includes her picture.
She gained the idea from Tik Tok where she states she gets a lot of ideas by following other educators (I'm telling ya social media is what you make of it. Check out the curated Tik Tok content from the end of 2021-22 school year newsletter or this Tik Tok teacher who walks you through Canva design in under three minutes).
Interested in making your own?
