What a FUN day the students had!!!
A Garden Snail has 14,000 teeth and they are arranged in rows on it's tongue. An aquatic snail will have over 20,000 teeth and are stronger then titanium!
Dolphins have teeth rings inside of them that tell how old they are. Their teeth are permanent, but they don't use them for chewing. Dolphins swallow their food whole because they have no muscles in their jaws.
Giraffes have no upper front teeth. They have 32 teeth, but most of them are in the back of their mouths.
Sharks constantly lose their teeth. They are positioned in rows within their mouths that simply move forward as they lose them. They usually lose at least one tooth per week - that's why you can find so many shark teeth on the beach.
Rabbits, squirrels and rodents (beavers too) have teeth that never stop growing. They have to chew on tough foods like nuts, leaves and bark or trees to wear down their teeth and keep them from growing too long.
Hippopotamuses have the longest canine teeth of any animal. At three-feet long, the incisors of a hippo can bite right through a small boat.
Let's test your knowledge .....................
