π Eco-Schools U.S. Green Flag Award
We are thrilled to announce that EcoSchools U.S., a program led by the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), has awarded Wall High School the prestigious Green Flag award, which is the NWF's highest level of recognition! Our incredible environmental club leaders have harnessed the power of the EcoSchools framework to mobilize a dynamic school-based action team. Together with students, administrators, educators, and dedicated community volunteers, they have been the driving force behind the incredible progress we've made in environmental stewardship and education. Our journey to success included taking action to reduce energy usage, improving recycling and composting to minimize waste, and implementing strategies to combat climate change through the use of native plants. Every step we've taken has contributed to our outstanding achievements. But we're not stopping here. Our passionate students are eager to maintain the momentum and continue prioritizing environmental stewardship within our community. With your support and dedication, we're confident that our future endeavors will be even more impactful and exciting. Let's continue making a positive impact on our environment and community together! π±ππ

In Mrs. Kelly's Ceramics 2 class, students explored Sgraffito, a pottery technique where a layer of glaze or slip is applied, dried, and then scratched with a carving tool to reveal the underlying color layer. The term "Sgraffito" is derived from the Italian word meaning "to scratch."

7 Mindsets: Attitude of Gratitude
The months of November and December are dedicated to the exploration of the mindset, ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE.
Through the ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE Mindset, we are taught that we can use either the positives or negatives in our lives as a foundation on which to build. Choose the positives, and we are on our way toward extraordinary success! By focusing on the things we have, there is no time to be distracted by what we donβt have.
4 Key Components:
- Treasure Yourself
- Be More Grateful
- Thank it Forward
- Elevate Your Perspective
Staying Healthy During Cold, Flu, Covid Season
Suggestions to stay healthy during cold, flu, and COVID season are helpful during this busy time of year. Habits like frequent handwashing, exercising, eating a balanced meal, and getting plenty of rest are the best ways to maintain a healthy immune system. If you experience symptoms of a cold, flu, or COVID, please stay home. If you have a temperature greater than 100.0, you must be fever-free without fever-reducing medication for 24 hours before returning to school. Those diagnosed with COVID, whether it be symptomatic or asymptomatic, should be isolated for 5 days, beginning on the first full day of symptoms (or the day you were tested if asymptomatic), and may return to school on day 6 if symptom-free. If you have any questions, you can refer to the guidelines on the district website or speak directly with the School Nurse.
