Principal's Corner
Hello Eagle Families,
It has been a joy to see our classrooms filled with students and to watch our learners form meaningful connections with their peers and teachers. It is sure to be a successful year!
As we move through the school year, our goal is to keep you informed of the many exciting events taking place. We have an active Facebook page that I invite you to follow if you haven't already. There are new posts each week that give you an insight into the daily happenings at EFA+. We will also publish a monthly newsletter to share important information and details about upcoming events.
We invite you to join us on September 22nd for our Fall Festival. This event will take place from 5:30-7:30 on the EFA+ playground. Food will be available for purchase and students will have the opportunity to purchase books from our book fair in the gym.
We will also be hosting the EFA+ Fun Run again this year. Students will participate in classroom community building and character-building lessons while working toward classroom goals, all while supporting the work of our A+ program! More information about this fundraiser will come your way soon.
We can't wait to see you all at these special events!
Kindest regards,
Mr. Mees, Principal
Crosswalk Safety Reminders
In order to ensure the safety of our students that walk to school, please refer to the image below to locate the safest crossing locations. It is important students use our crosswalks so they can stay safe.
Students needing to cross E 12th street must cross at the light on the corner of E 12th and Highland. Students can only cross at E 12th and S Mable if they are accompanied by an adult. Please note that morning supervision (ie. crossing guard and staff) begins at 7:45am. Students who walk home after school should leave the school grounds immediately upon dismissal.
Parent/Guardian Drop Off and Pickup Reminders
Thank you so much for your patience navigating drop off/pickup as we get back into the routine! Please review our drop off and pick-up expectations to help the process run smoothly each day.
- Parent/Guardian vehicles can drop off from the school parking lot or off S Mable Ave.
- Parent/Guardian vehicles are expected to leave as soon as students enter the fence. This will allow space for other parents to drop off.
- Parent/Guardians should NOT leave their vehicle while in either of the drop off locations. Those wishing to walk and stand with their child need to park in a different location (parking lot or street parking).
- Please do not drop your children off prior to 7:45 unless they are eating breakfast. Supervision will not be available prior to this time. Students on the playground prior to 7:45 will be sent inside to the breakfast room.
Afternoon Pick-Up
- We strongly encourage you to pick your child up as close to the 2:45 dismissal time as possible.
- Students waiting for Parent/Guardian pickup have two locations to wait for their ride after school: inside the gate near the main office (door A) and inside the gate near the red playground (door E).
- Parent/Guardians should NOT leave their vehicle while in either of the pickup locations. Those wishing to leave their car as they wait need to park in a different location (parking lot or street parking).
- Parent/Guardian vehicles are expected to leave as soon as students enter the vehicle. This will allow space for other parents to pickup.
- Cars waiting in the parking lot are expected to be in the right lane to allow space for those driving to pass in the left lane. The entrance to the parking lot is located on S Highland Ave and the exit is on S Mable Ave.
- Students must be picked up by 3:00pm. Students not picked up by 3:00 pm will be sent to the office.
Please refer to the map below for additional details.
