Snowman Olympic Challenge
Do you remember being a kid and going outside to make snow angels, build a snowman, and then coming inside to warm up with hot chocolate.
Well, we would like to provide this experience for our students.
On our next school day with measurable snow, we would like to take our students outside for a Snowman Olympics Challenge. Each class will divide into groups and complete a snowman building challenge.
Before we can do this, we need your permission to take your child outside on a cold, snowy day.
We ask students to bring a change of clothes and to bring heavy coats, gloves, hats, etc.
Since we can't plan a Snowman Building day, we will send out a text message, post on our Face book page, and send emails telling you "tomorrow is the day!"
Winter Fest Permission
The cost will be $5.00. Funds raised will be used for field trips and student activities.
Activities will include a special guest appearance, games, lots of movement activities, and a snack.
Parents will need to pick their children up at 6:00 p.m. in the parent pick up line.
A paper permission form will be sent home so money can be returned with it.
Forms due by January 28!!
Valentine Celebration with Parents
All families are invited to our school on February 3 for a Magic Show. This show is the "real deal" and highly engaging! The show will be at 10:00 a.m. and it is a 12:30 dismissal day.
From 4 - 6 p.m. on February 2, PTO is holding Winter Fest with games and activities for all students. Parents may use the 2 hours for some quiet time or they may join us to have fun with the kids.
Then on February 14, students are going to celebrate Valentine's Day with their classmates and teachers (parents celebrated on February 3).
Students will be exchanging tootles, Valentine Cards (please have your child prepare these for the students on the class list each teacher will be sending home), making cards for senior citizens in local care facilities, and seeing a Wild World of Animals presentation.
Of course, they will get a delicious Valentine snack.
Teachers will be communicating with you regarding valentines and valentine boxes!!
Huskytastic Summer Learning...........Continued
We are in the planning stages for our 2nd year of Huskytastic Summer Learning.
The dates for this summer are June 6 - 24 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. each day. Buses will transport students.
Due to the WV Holiday, there will be no school on June 20.
We will continue with learning with an emphasis on hands -on activities while mastering grade level standards.
Each Friday will be a field trip day and families will need to provide transportation home on that day.
Our 5th graders need to sign up here, but will be attending BUMS for their summer learning.
Please complete this form if you are interested in your child participating.
More information will be forthcoming as plans are made.
100th Day of School
PK will be celebrating at a later date and will receive information from Mrs. Tenney.
We encourage our students and staff to be creative and either dress as a 100 year old person OR wear a shirt with 100 items!
