BATH TECH AUTO WINS FIRST AT FORD ACE STATE FINALS!
Bath Tech students Dana Lord and Connor Robertson competed in the Ford ACE State Finals meet competition this week at CMCC in Auburn. They had to complete a written exam as well as a hands on vehicle test using scan tools and multi-meters. Basic hand tools were used for part removal during the vehicle repairs.
Connor Robertson scored the highest on the written exam above all others competing. Dana and Connor were challanged to repair the "no start", and the transmission complaint of not coming out of park. The Bath Tech team was the only team to repair the vehicle and drive it into the shop for final judging. Only repair that they didn't complete was the engine misfire.
Both students received $1,500-$1,800 worth of free tools. Connor received a $5,000 grant for housing or supplies to go to CMCC. Both were offered jobs by Darlings Ford at the end of the day!

ENGINEERING STUDENTS PRESENT DESIGN IDEAS
Engineering and Architectural Design 2 students Rylie Harper, Kadyn Doyle, and Micah Longbottom presented their Discovery Classroom design at the Kate Furbish School in Brunswick this week. Several months ago, the students were asked to design a concept for a free-standing exploratory classroom suitable for preschool through grade 2 students.
The design features the concept of geometric windows and colors that identify each grade level in the school, and the repetition of patterns and motifs found throughout the Kate Furbish School.
The school administrators were excited about the design, and next steps will include providing the completed design documents and model to share with the community and potential project funders.
