We are blessed with three great counselors! Mrs. Dean - MES Counselor, Mr. Johnson - MMS Counselor, and Mrs. Daniel - MHS Counselor, put in a lot of work behind the scenes getting schedules ready, special programs, and helping students through difficult situations.

Give them a Dragon Shout Out this week to let them know how much we appreciate them and that we are thankful they are members of the Dragon family!

Gov. Asa Hutchinson released new guidelines on February 1 for schools. Mountainburg Schools is making adjustments following this announcement. Please read about them below.

Mountainburg Elementary PTO and the Dragon Varsity Cheerleaders are selling Valentines Day gifts. These will be delivered on Valentine's Day.

The baseball and softball teams will be selling Dragon Gear for the upcoming season. Below is a link to the order form.

Coach Pense and Coach Gregory will be set up at the Sr. High District Tournament February 14 - 18 to take orders. The tournament is being hosted at Mountainburg High School this year.

Mountainburg Agri Dept was awarded a grant to purchase a Plasma Arc CNC machine for use with prgram of study classes such as Ag Metals and Ag Mechanics.

Students will have the unique opportunity to develop their skills in design with computer-aided drafting (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). These skills will translate into high demand career in the skilled trades.

Students will have the opportunity to plan, design, and create projects with a hands-on approach.

Examples of what could be made with the plasma cutter:

• Dragon artwork
• Business signs
• House number
• Fire pit
• Patio wall sconce
• Fireplace screen
• Gates
• Indoor decor

The spring semester is a very busy time for students at MHS. Seniors are gearing up to receive their diploma in May!

All year, seniors have received emails about scholarships. These have also been posted in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom that Mrs. Daniel has set up.

SENIORS AND PARENTS:

• If your senior receives confirmation that he/she is awarded a scholarship, please make a copy of that letter and have it dropped off to Mrs. Daniel.

Please contact her if you have any questions regarding your student's transcript, registering for the ACT, and scholarships.

Mrs. Daniel will meet with the 9th and 10th grade students this week to begin scheduling for the 2022-2023 school year.
