Introducing the Yes Card
Help your child "Just Say Yes" to a healthy future!
What is a Yes Card?
A “Yes Card” is a $400 electronic gift card that can be used to pay for after-school programs and other Out-of-School Time (OST) activities from a list of approved providers. It is part of Just Say Yes, a youth substance use prevention initiative at the Franklin County Health Department, which encourages youth participation in structured OST activities and positive family, school and community support for young people.
Who can get a Yes Card?
Yes Cards will be issued to a pilot group of 300 middle school students in Franklin County, including all middle schoolers at Second Street School and selected middle schoolers from Elkhorn and Bondurant. Families are notified through the school and must complete the sign-up form linked below to receive a card for their student.
When will students receive their Yes Card?
Students in the pilot group will receive 3 Yes Cards - one in September 2020 (expires December 2020), one in January 2021 (expires December 2021) and one in January 2022.
Where can students use their Yes Card?
You can read up on the nine merchants currently accepting the Yes Card here. We will be adding programs in the coming months, and we'd also love to hear your ideas about what else to include!
