Weekly Remote Learning Communication Chart - Week B
Every week, the Weekly Hybrid Learning Communication Chart will be shared with parents on Monday. This chart will allow for adults supporting students to understand the learning following:
- Learning objectives for the week
- Specific materials needed
- What special resources will be used instructionally.
- Information regarding how to access teachers.

SCHOOL PICTURE DAYS
To all parents and students,
Morin’s Studio will once again be taking our yearly school photos.
All Students will be photographed for school records and to be used in the school yearbook, please dress appropriately.
Dates have been established for students “attending school”:
Monday October 26th and Friday October 30th
A picture order form will be sent home this week for hybrid students and is also available below (please print in landscape mode)
REMOTE STUDENTS SCHEDULE: Pictures will be taken in the back gym located behind the school at Miscoe Hill (Please enter through the back of the school)
Students last name ending in letters A-C, Monday October 26th (anytime between 9:00-11:00)
Students last name ending in letters D-L, Monday October 26th (anytime between 11:15-1:15)
Students last name ending in letters M-R, Friday October 30th (anytime between 9:00-11:00)
Students last name ending in letters S-Z, Friday October 30th (anytime between 11:15-1:15)
An order form must be returned with payment on picture day.
All photos must be paid for on picture day by check or cash.
Costume Days for Halloween
- We invite students to come in costume, whether you celebrate Halloween or just enjoy doing so, and encourage students to find inspiration from upcycled materials to create something innovative rather than spend money on something store-bought. Of course, all costumes are welcome as long as they are safe and in line with the dress code.
- Costume days are scheduled for Tuesday, 10/27-Cohort 1, and Thursday, 10/29-Cohort2.

DRESS CODE REMINDER
The school atmosphere should be conducive to accomplishing the important goals of education. Inappropriate dress and improper grooming are detrimental to positive academic achievement and social growth. Therefore, all students are expected to attend school appropriately and reasonably dressed and properly groomed. Students who fail to comply with this request will be referred to the office for disciplinary action.
The school prohibits anything it deems to be disruptive, distracting, provocative, provoking, and/or intimidating that raises to the level in the school’s view as having a detrimental effect on the safe and educational atmosphere in the school environment. Expectations for dress include but are not limited to the following:
Clothing making reference to alcohol, drugs, sex, tobacco products, hatred, violence or containing lewd or obscene language are not to be worn.
Clothing exposing any part of the buttock, midriff, breast and/or mid to lower back, including halter tops and muscle shirts, are not acceptable.
Underwear may not be exposed. All tops must have straps or sleeves.
Skirts and shorts must have a minimum three-inch inseam.
State law requires the wearing of footwear in public buildings. Any type of footwear determined to be destructive to the floors or hazardous are unacceptable.
No hats, hoods, visors, or bandanas are to be worn in the building without permission.
Writing on oneself or another is not allowed.
No shoes with wheels in soles are allowed on school grounds, at bus stops or on buses.
Students must have both eyes visible at all times. Hair must not cover eyes during the school day.
Clothing or accessories that are distracting or disruptive to student learning will be prohibited.
Students violating any dress code will first receive a verbal warning with a change of clothing. The second offense disciplinary action is a written notice to parent, change of clothing and guidance notification. Upon the third offense the student will be sent home and will be allowed to return to school the following day. The school reserves the right at any time to amend the above ban list without prior warning to the student.

Immunization Requirements
Dear Parents,
We are so excited to see your students back at school.
Below are the immunization/health requirements for Middle School per the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
NEW***
All students Grades k-12 will be required to receive an influenza (flu) vaccine for school attendance by December 31st, 2020. (unless they have a medical or religious exemption)
During the COVID-19 pandemic, influenza vaccine will be especially critical to reduce the overall impact of respiratory illness on the population, protect vulnerable populations from severe illness, and decrease the overall burden on the healthcare system. (Center for Disease Control)
Immunizations required for 7th grade
Tdap (tetanus/pertussis) - Should be given if it has been 10 years or longer since last dose.
Polio- 4 doses
Hepatitis B- 3 doses
MMR (measles, mumps , rubella) 2 doses
Varicella (chicken pox) or proof of disease
Meningococcal (meningitis) 1 does to enter 7th grade NEW**
Massachusetts General Law requires all students to have an updated physical (within the past year) to enter 5th grade.

The Blackstone Valley Education Hub is looking to celebrate MA STEM Week with some small workshops for middle school students in 3D design.

Athletic News
Let's go Braves!
This year due to circumstances, the only people allowed at the field are one family member per child and personnel. This rule is for all home and away meets. You must wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Spectators will only be allowed to watch the race on the field between the baseball and softball field. Thank you for your cooperation!
