Principal's Update
Dear St. Gabe's students and families,
Merry Christmas everyone. I wanted to send out our January newsletter a bit early so that you have all the important dates for exams and review sessions early. January is a very busy month so it's important to be organized!
I also want to send a heartfelt thank you out to our St. Gabe's School Council and to all of you who contributed to the wonderful treats and surprises that our staff received on Monday. Thank you, especially to Yvonne Dutton, our School Council chair, for organizing such a lovely event for our staff.
On behalf of the staff of St. Gabriel Education Centre, I want to wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas season.
Many Blessings to you all,
Renee Trottier,
principal

Mental Health during the Holidays
Even though daylight slowly increases each day, the cold weather extremes and holidays are not always joyful or easy for everyone. 😥
Keep your kit full for yourself, fill it up as needed, and not just when you find yourself running on empty or burnt out! Your health (mental and physical) matters! ❤️💚

Exam Anxiety
Exam Month Equals Increased Anxiety. If someone is having a hard time, we naturally want to help fix things for them or problem solve. Sometimes, this is not the best thing for that person. They may be looking for safety, calmness, quiet, connection, or more.
Anxious thoughts and feelings can make you feel like you're in real danger. Having the courage to work through those thoughts and feelings is the first step. You can be afraid (or anxious) and still have the courage to do it anyways.
