iReady Testing
This measure of data is extremely important as it gives us a baseline to see where our students are. We want to base our teaching and instruction on what our students need! Please insure that students understand the importance of taking their time, not rushing through the test, and trying their best. Help your student be ready by getting a good nights' rest and a good breakfast.
Badges
All students are required to wear their school issues badges at all times on campus. This includes the school issued lanyard. If a student forgets a badge at home, they may go to the front office to get a temp badge. On the request for a 3rd temp badge, students will receive a detention. Please help us keep our school campus safe!

ESOL
Are you a multilingual family with at least two languages spoken at home? If so, we want to welcome you and your family back to our school with an open and informative evening for K-12 families on the 19th of September, a Tuesday. Our district ESOL Coordinator, Multicultural Community Outreach Coordinator, and our Elementary English Language Development teacher will all be here to welcome you and your family from 5 - 6 pm at the Elementary School Library (2005 S 12th St; Rogers, AR 72758). We will have snacks and a friendly atmosphere to answer any questions you have, ideas on how to approach this semester's coming events at AAA, and an overview of our English Language Development services here at the school. We also need your input on ideas and how you can help and contribute to our school community.
There will be interpretation services available. We look forward to meeting you and sharing time with you during this time. If you happen to not be able to attend this event but have questions you need answered or input that you would like to offer, feel free to contact our ESOL Coordinator Thomas Stephenson (tstephenson@artsk12.org).

ATTENTION SENIORS
Hi seniors and parents of seniors!
There is an organization that could be very beneficial to you as you prepare for the college application process. QuestBridge is a nonprofit that connects academically outstanding students from low-income backgrounds with admission and full four-year scholarships to 50 top colleges through the National College Match.
We encourage you to learn more about the National College Match application, which closes in late September. This is a college admission and scholarship process through which high-achieving, low-income students can be "matched" — admitted early with full four-year scholarships to QuestBridge college partners. The Match Scholarship is offered as part of a generous financial aid package provided by the college, and it is worth over $200,000. More information about eligibility is available at www.questbridge.org. Please check it out! The deadline to apply is September 26, 2023.

Monica Vallejo Visits Dance Studio
The Ensemble and Equilibrium dancers were fortunate to have Monica Vallejo visit on Friday and share firsthand knowledge of the Dia de los Muertos Celebration. They were treated to a wonderful slide show that explained the history and meaning of the Mexican Celebration. Ms. Vallejo graciously brought in some of her family's flower crowns and let the dancers try them. She explained the meaning of the colors and flowers used in the flower crowns and sugar skull face painting. Students learned about the elements of the Ofrenda and why the Ofrenda is such an important part of the celebration. Ms. Vallejo's presentation included pictures of her family's Ofrenda and Mia de los Muertos Celebration.
FASHION
Fashion students are studying International Fashion and started with French Fashion! They studied the history of the beret and then made some of their own. They worked with beret pattern pieces and straight stitched on the sewing machines to make our own unique berets.
Fashion Friday
Happy French Fashion Friday at Arkansas Arts Academy high school.
We are delighted to share a special showcase from our newly introduced Robotics class – our first-ever Robot Relay Race. This new robotics class, made possible in part thanks to grants from Code.org and General Motors, aims not only to imbue our students with the technical computer science skills but also to foster creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. Our students have embraced the challenges and joys of robotics, demonstrating remarkable growth and creativity in a short span of time.
This video was created by students from the EAST initiative class, allowing them an opportunity to combine their curriculum with real-world application.
We invite you to take a moment to view the video and appreciate the hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm of our students.
Mrs. Schultz's 8th Grade Art White River Monster
The organization Keep Arkansas Beautiful hosted a tent featuring the cardboard sculpture that was created reflecting the illustration from a book about recycling. Our White River Monster drew a crowd and Ms. Schultz helped young people attending Tinkerfest create small dragons. The event was set up by The Discovery Museum in downtown Little Rock.
Our original large cardboard dragon created by Ms. Schultz's Art Classes from last year will be at the Amazeum on September 23rd. Our students will be hosting a cardboard station and helping young people create wonderful things with cardboard at the Amazeum's Tinkerfest. Come and see our dragon and our students teaching others how to create with cardboard.
