Candy War is BACK-October 24-27th: To help gather candy for the Trunk or Treat, we will host a CANDY WAR between classes! The class that brings in the most pounds of candy wins a free ice cream at One More Scoop! The results of the CANDY WAR will be posted at the Trunk or Treat!

Class Party Planners Needed: The PTA is in search of 2-3 adults per grade level to help PLAN fall parties for all classrooms in the grade level. Fall parties will be November 21st 2:40p.m.- 3:40 p.m.

We are looking for sponsors to help with lots of great initiatives for this school year, such as purchase t-shirts for all students and teachers for field trips, snacks for teachers lounge, changeable outdoor sign, plus the sponsors get lots of great perks! As we continue to keep the safety of our students and staff at the forefront of our minds, all visitors will need to check in at the office and be scanned through our Raptor School Safety Software. Parents are welcome to provide their driver’s license to be entered into the system proactively, this will allow for a more efficient process during future visits during the school day.

Lunch Visitors: If you would like to visit the lunchroom during your child's lunch, you are welcome to join us. This is a chance to come during special occasions or when your schedule allows. The students are always so excited to have lunch visitors.

Here are some guidelines we ask you to follow:

• You will need your government-issued photo ID to enter the building

• Check in at the office and obtain a visitor's sticker

• If a grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc., want to visit for lunch, they must be listed as an Emergency Contact in our student information system or not be allowed to enter the building. Please call the office to add people before the visit.

• If a visitor brings food, it can only be shared with your student

• We will have a visitor's table in the lunchroom for you and your student to sit and eat

• Check out at the office after your student's lunch

Families can apply for free and reduced-price meals for the 2023-2024 school year: Meal Application. Applications can also be submitted throughout the school year, based on family circumstances.

Absence Definitions Explained

• VERIFIED ABSENCES: An absence from school resulting from illness or unforeseen circumstances which is verified by a parent/guardian. A VERIFIED absence is NOT an EXCUSED absence. (Verified absences count against student's attendance)

• EXCUSED ABSENCES: An absence is categorized as excused when a note is received by the school excusing the absence. EXAMPLE: official doctor’s note, court document, etc. (Excused absences do not count against a student’s attendance)

• UNEXCUSED ABSENCES: An absence from school without verification within 48 hours of the absence. (Unexcused absences count against a student’s attendance.)

After ten verified/unexcused absences or tardies/early outs, the office will contact the parents to schedule a conference regarding the issue. In accordance with Missouri’s Compulsory School Attendance Law (RSMO 167.031), regular school attendance is required. This law states, “Every parent, guardian or other person in this state having care, control or custody of a child between the ages of five and seventeen years shall cause the child to attend regularly.” Should the pattern of excessive absences continue, Raymore-Peculiar School District reserves the right to refer the matter to the Juvenile Officer of Cass County for further investigation
