Reminders for the Week of January 29-February 2
**Our mid-year benchmark assessments will continue this week. Please help us make sure your child is getting lots of rest each night and keep up the great work with nightly homework for practice.
**Our students are ROCKING our spelling assignments/tests! We are so proud of their progress! Thank you for helping us help them succeed.
*If you haven't signed and returned your child's report card envelope, please do so this week.
**Don't forget to send a healthy snack and water bottle each day with your child. Thank you so much for the extra snack donations. We greatly appreciate it!
**Please make sure we know how your child will go home each day. If you have changes in transportation, please call the office and send me a Dojo message.
SCHOOL STORE FUNDRAISER--HELP OUR CLASSROOM!
**The School Store Envelopes are going home on Monday. This is an easy and super way to fund our classroom directly. Many of the resources I have in my classroom came from families supporting this fundraiser. You don't have to purchase anything unless you choose to donate a gift card to our classroom. Any and all funds are greatly appreciated and your child can also get some really neat prizes as well!
NEW SPELLING HOMEWORK ROUTINE!
We will be adding a short spelling assignment to our homework routine. The front sheet includes the week's spelling words and explains each night's assignment while the second sheet is for your child's nightly written work. Spelling assignments (second page only) need to be completed by Friday and returned in your child's homework folder to be graded for completion. On four day weeks, tests will be on Thursday. Students who complete the week's assignments and have it in their folder on the last morning of the week will receive a prize. The purpose of the spelling assignment is to help our students with decoding and encoding word family words which helps them in reading fluency and to prepare for 1st grade next year. Each night's assignments should only take 5-10 minutes to complete. Spelling tests will be given on Fridays on those words. Thank you for your help!
