Sunny Heights Families,

It is hard to believe we are already so close to the end of our 1st quarter! We will celebrate great things our students have done so far this year at next week's CORE Carnival! The goal is to make this a great experience for our students, but we need your help! Please send in mini pumpkins, spider rings, small toys as prizes, Q-tips, and other items.

I would also like to thank Mr. Bunce for his service and commitment to Sunny Heights over the last year. Mr. Bunce will be transitioning to a new position at Creston Middle School. We wish him the best of luck in his new role and beyond.

Do not forget that there is NO school on Tuesday, October 1st. This day is allotted for our parents to meet with their child's teacher at the scheduled conference time to receive their child's report card and to see how their child is progressing.

Our Lost & Found closet is getting full! On, Tuesday, October 1st, when we have our Parent/Teacher conferences, we will have a table out with all the Lost & Found items that we have accumulated since the beginning of school. Please check the table while you are here for your child's conference. Any items left will be donated.

Parents, I also wanted to share the Warren Township Strategic Plan Survey with families. The survey's purpose is to collect feedback from our families to aid in district planning discussions. Your input is valued and appreciated.

Each month, beginning with September, we will honor one of our wonderful families as the Family of the Month. The winning families will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. Parent (Guardian) must be PTA member.
2. Students must have good attendance and are at school on time.

3. Family must exhibit CORE behavior at all times when on school property.
4. Parents (Guardian) are actively involved in the classroom and/or school activities.

The families will be selected based on teacher recommendations. A different grade level will be represented each month. We will begin with kindergarten. The winning family will be interviewed. The interview and family picture will be published in the Sunny Heighlights. A monthly award will be presented to the family selected. The award for September is a $25.00 gift card to Walmart. The winning kindergarten family will be announced next week.

district events sections as well as other important district information. The app includes easy access to the weekly breakfast and lunch menu, staff contacts, district documents, bullying and safety reporting form, and much much more.
