Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,

We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Per DCPS, following Spring Break, all students and school-based staff (including partner staff, school-based service providers, and Early Stages team members) will be expected to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before returning to school on April 24, 2023, by uploading results to the centralized database. Hyde-Addison ES sent COVID test kits home with students prior to the break.

As of today, around 55% of our families have fully enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year. As you submit enrollment forms, please be sure to include your proof of residency documentation or the forms cannot be fully processed. As we pull from the waitlist to close this gap, class sizes may increase, if our families decide to reenroll later in the season.

If you already know that your child(ren) won't be returning to Hyde-Addison, please fill out this short form, we will take note of your intent not to re-enroll and plan to support the withdrawal process at the end of this school year so that records can be transferred to the next school.

No student will be allowed to leave school alone or with a sibling until the DCPS self-dismissal form has been signed and returned to the main office or emailed to hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov. Please note that PreK3 and PreK4 students are not eligible. Please contact hyde.addison@k12.dc.gov with any questions.

If you would like a Kids Ride Free Card for your student, please fill out this short form. They will be sent home in students' backpacks on Mondays.

There are 56 total staff members at Hyde-Addison including teachers, admin, custodial services, cafeteria workers, student services and security guards. We want to make sure all of the wonderful staff that care for our children feel appreciated and recognized for their contributions.

The PTA is raising funds to provide a grab and go breakfast on Monday, stock the snack cart with special treats on Wednesday and provide every staff member with a giftcard on Friday. The amount raised will dictate how much we are able to give but we hope to give at least $50 gift cards to each staff member. This effort is in addition to the personalized plans your room parents are making for your classroom teachers. School mental health services and supports are an effective means of addressing the mental health needs of children and improving the learning environment. Click here if you would like to refer a student for mental health or counseling support provided by Ms. Stovall. Referrals will be processed by the Mental Health Team and staff will receive communication and updates regarding services.
