The Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments are comprehensive, end-of-year assessments for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics that are aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics and measure progress toward college and career readiness.

Our 5th grade Teacher Mrs. Tyler will go over all this information. All parents of all grade levels are welcomed.

Hi,

My name is Aída Pelayo. I have been Dearborn’s Library Aide for eleven years! I’ve been a District employee for almost twenty-two years! I obtained my Bachelor of Arts at California State University, Northridge in 2001. I double-majored in Latin American Literature and History, with minors in Chicano/a Studies and Psychology.

One of my most favorite of working in Dearborn’s Library is conducting Story Time! The students love to listen to the weekly stories and themes! One of the many subjects that are discussed during such activity, with grades TK though Fifth, are the morals of the stories, connecting them to our District-Wide School Expectations, and how these will help us succeed in today’s society! Some of the many morals include ALWAYS staying positive and NEVER giving up!

One of my hobbies includes walking on the beach! Though, my absolute favorite is spending most of my Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter breaks in Santa Rosa and Redwood City, in Northern California! I LOVE being there spending time with close friends, catching up, relaxing, unwinding, and just taking it easy!

Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day is observed on April 24. Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, also known as Genocide Memorial Day, is a public holiday in Armenia that is honored by Armenians around the world to mourn and remember the genocide that happened. It is commemorated yearly to memorialize the casualties of the Armenian Genocide, which occurred between 1915 and 1923. Hundreds of thousands of people travel to the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, to leave flowers at the memorial’s eternal flame. The Armenian notables exiled from the Ottoman capital in 1915, which included several Armenian scholars and community leaders, the majority of whom were killed, are commemorated on April 24.
