Dear Parents,

Happy September! We have many things going on this month at school.

On September 1, we will have Open House between 6:00 and 7:30 pm at school. Parents are invited to drop in and visit their students' classrooms. Parents can also sign up for parent conferences. The PTO and other groups will have tables available in the cafeteria with information as well.

On September 9, we invite our grandparents to visit for Grandparents Day! Grandparents may enter through the cafeteria where they will can have lemonade and cookies. Then grandparents may visit their grandchild(ren)'s classrooms. We are excited to have our grandparents visit for this special day.

Students are out of school September 5-7 for a long weekend holiday.

America Reads tutoring begins on September 12. Good News Club begins on September 15.

Picture Day is September 27.

Welcome DHS football players!

On Friday, Daniel High School football players will open car doors and greet students as they come into school. After the bell rings, they will visit classrooms and students. We are so excited to see our DHS players serving our school in this way.

September 16 and 23 will be Blue and Gold Day to honor them!

All Pro Dads

What is All Pro Dads? All Pro Dads is a monthly gathering at school where dads and kids engage in meaningful conversations and activities centered around a character-based curriculum. This faith-based program meets from 6:45 to 7:30, and is led by Clif Alexander.

Here are the dates for APD this year: September 22, October 20, January 19, February 16, March 16, and April 20.

We pre-order Chick Fil A for dads and their kids to have breakfast together during this 45 minutes.

Character Word of the Month

Our character word this month is Trust. Trust is putting your confidence in someone you can depend on. We will talk this month about trusting others and being dependable and trustworthy. Mrs. Orr will visit all classes for lessons on Trust.

We will honor our Best of the Nest honorees for Trust at the end of the month.
