A Note from the Principal...

This week is Teacher Appreciation week and for me it's a time to reflect a little more than usual on how much I appreciate all of our staff that works together to make HSE so special! We started doing Fri Yay Shout Outs of Appreciation on Friday and here are a few shout outs from our staff for you to enjoy:


  • Shout out to our custodians for keeping us extra safe this year by taking care of our home away from home.
  • Shout out to our classroom assistants and lunch/recess supervisors for always going above and beyond!
  • Shout out to our cafeteria staff for all you do each day!


I am so thankful I get to work with such a hardworking, dedicated staff who is happy to share their appreciations! I also want to thank you for all of the support and encouragement you have given to our staff this year.

Health Updates...

  • If anyone in your household is awaiting Covid testing, please do not send your child to school.

  • Please remember to let our office know if anyone in your family has been diagnosed with COVID or has come in direct contact with anyone that has tested positive.
  • Please continue to do the daily health screening and keep your child home if he/she has any of the symptoms of COVID.

First Grader Mila Wade

"Mila is new to our school but started day one with a smile and a positive attitude. She is always a good listener and great participant in classroom discussions and lessons. She has made many friends, and has helped some friends problem-solve through disagreements. We are so happy to have her in our classroom!"

"Devy is an absolute STARS student.She exemplifies kindness, respect, and patience each and every day. She makes those around her feel safe and welcome. Devyn is a Student of the Week EVERY week!"

"Adrien deserves Student of the Week for many reasons. Adrien loves to learn about everything. He does research and comes to school ready to teach others what he knows. Not only that, he is kind to everyone and shows a very caring attitude."

Positivity Project P2...

This week we will focus on the character strength Leadership. Click here to find out more about this strength.


What it is...

Leaership is getting others to do what needs to be done while keeping the group morale high which leads to future success as a group!


Why it matters...

Leaders understand others and inspire them toward a common goal.

Visitors...

  • Visitors must have an appointment to enter the building. All visitors will be screened outside by our securtiy guard before entering and must be wearing a mask to enter.

  • If you are dropping off items for your child, the security guard will meet you outside to collect the item/s.

Birthday Treats...

Due to allergies and for infection control, if students are going to be bringing food to share, it must be store bought and contain an ingredients list. Individually wrapped food items would be best.
