Message From the Principal

Dear Parsons Families,

Last week, my family went to Dairy Queen after my daughter's Academic Society Awards. As my husband was buying our ice cream, my daughter's former 8th grade Algebra teacher walked in. Mr. H is one of Tamsin's favorites. He made algebra fun (yikes) and has supported her at cross country and track meets. My husband asked him if he could buy his ice cream for putting up with Tamsin all year. The next morning, Mr. H messaged Tamsin and told her that night he was having a really bad night and us buying him an ice cream helped a lot.

Why do I tell this story? It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Every message, snack, treat, and kind word is truly appreciated by teachers. We love our jobs and love what we do. Thank you to the PTO for organizing a fabulous Teacher Appreciation Week and all of the parent donations. Don't forget to thank a teacher. It means the world!

Principal Phone Calls

There are many ways to get community and stakeholder feedback. While I love Coffee with the Principal, I know that there are many parents that can't make it. In the next couple of weeks, I will be making daily phone calls to check in with parents. What has gone well this year? What has been a challenge? What do you love about Parsons? What is something you think would make Parsons even better? I won't be able to personally call everyone but I hope that I can get a pulse of the building as we begin to plan for next year. Remember, my door is always open if you have questions or concerns.

We only have 16 students left to test for MSTEP. We will be finished this week. Thanks for supporting your student!

NWEA

The NWEA window opens May 8th. This assessment is K-5. Stay tuned to hear from your child's teacher to find out when they are taking this assessment.

Mornings with Mom

Mornings with Mom is May 9th at 8:00 am. We are looking forward to celebrating all kinds of moms with a yummy breakfast. This event is now full.

We do need at least 3 more volunteers for this event! Please contact Mrs. Aherne or Erica Green if you can help.

Parsons Talent Show

The Talent Show forms were due on Friday. Auditions will now be during the school day at 1:15 on May 10th. The main event will be Monday, May 15th at 2:00. Let's see that Parsons talent shine!

Parsons Drama Club Presents Kid Frankenstein

Drama Club is asking that all minors be accompanied by an adult due to the noise issues we had last year. There will also be no food or drinks allowed in the auditorium this year. We appreciate your understanding!
