Summer Reading
Lakewood Elementary Library
Congratulations, Stallions!
Congratulations on a great year, Stallions! I am so proud of each of you - how much you have grown and achieved. We checked out over 29,000 books from the library this year! Can you believe it? I had so much fun learning with you. Thank you! For those of you leaving Lakewood, I wish you all the best at your new school. For those returning, I will see you soon. Have a wonderful summer and keep reading!
Sincerely,
Robin Pattillo
Librarian
Tips for Parents
- Encourage kids to choose their own books.
- Talk with your child about what they are reading and ask questions.
- Remember that it's okay to read a book more than once.
- Abandoning books we don't really like is also okay.
- Reading comes in many formats and genres. Embrace them all! (poetry, graphic novels, e-books, biographies, chapter books, informational texts, audio-books, joke books, magazines, etc.)
- Keep things light and have fun!
