Department of Health’s Masking Regulation 1-26-22
Dear HF-L Families and Staff,
HFLCSD is aware that a Supreme Court judge on Long Island ruled yesterday that the state’s mask mandate is procedurally flawed. The state appealed the decision last night, and an appeals court judge heard the case this afternoon. A temporary stay of the enforcement of the Nassau County decision has been issued while the appeal is pending. This means that the Department of Health’s masking regulation and directive requiring masks in school remains in effect. The District is required to comply with the regulation and corresponding directive and will continue to require all students, staff and others on school property to wear masks while this litigation is in process. Thank you for understanding.
