Highlights of the Week
Ski trip – final preparations: It was with a wonderful sense of excitement and anticipation that we held our final Ski trip meeting – 40 students and 5 of our amazing staff will go to Austria for an 8-day Ski trip over the February half term. All the final preparations are in place and now we are just waiting to see the photos and hear the stories that will become a lifelong of memories.
Positive Noticing Week: It has been a wonderful week of positive noticing between staff, students and in fact everyone in the building. It has been great to actively see and comment on the amazing amount of top quality behaviour.
Notices
Year 11 Mock Exams: The Year 11 Mock Exams started this week and will run until the 19th January. Students have received individual timetables and revision books. We encourage them to prepare diligently, embodying our school values in their efforts. Please see the timetable here: JANUARY-2024-MOCK-TIMETABLE.
Remember the first papers of each exam are being sent off to be marked externally by GCSE exam markers. This will add additional rigour to marking and feedback as well as supporting our teachers with some of their exam marking load.
Lost and found: Students that lose anything while at school should check with Student services, where lost property is located. Student Services is open before school, break time and lunch time.
Parent- Teacher Association – we are still looking for additional volunteers to help and support with the PTA. Our dedicated parent –teacher association has raised over £17,000 over the last 12 months and have used the funds to provide; sports equipment, trips and visits, drama equipment, text books, and a range of items that just provide additional support to the school .
Congratulations to the Y10/11 Girls Basketball Team who won the Championship Division of the Borough!

Richmond Library Service visited Year 7 this week to introduce the children to their Cover Story Competition. All the children were sent home with a booklet telling them about the top teen reads of 2023 and how to borrow them from Richmond Borough libraries. The local libraries are free to join and give children access to not only physical books but a wide range of e-books too which can be borrowed for free.
The competition, which is open to children 11-14 years old, is to write a book review about either one of the top 2023 reads or a book they have read recently and enjoyed.
Entries can be made here- www.richmond.gov.uk/coverstory.
