Food Drive- Join IVA ASB in partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank for our virtual Food Drive. This month you can help us provide more fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and proteins to our neighbors in Orange County who face food insecurity with your contributions. Virtual food drive proceeds are used to purchase food and provides services to those in need. This a great way to give back to our community. You can click here to donate to the IVA Food Drive.
FOR Families provides free information and short-term support to individuals, couples, and families living in Irvine who need assistance identifying and accessing needed services and resources. More information can be found here
IUSD Nutrition Services- We ask that all meals be pre-ordered in order to eliminate waste. Please complete and submit the form at the link below by 5:00 PM this Friday for pick up next Tuesday morning to ensure that we have a meal ready for your student(s). If you will not be picking up meals for your students, there is no need to complete a form.

Paper Tutoring: Paper Tutoring is a free resource, giving your student 24/7 access to chat with tutors for live help and assignment support. Paper helps parents and guardians avoid the cost, time, and stress of having to relearn trigonometry and Shakespeare or hire a private tutor to help their child with classwork. Paper can provide support with homework help, writing feedback (i.e. editing essays), and study support. Help is available in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and French.

Zoom while in the car- Zooming while in a car is not safe nor conducive to learning. Each site campus provides IVA students with a place to participate in class (usually the library/media space). Students who are zooming while in the car will be moved to the waiting room and will be marked absent. Please contact the attendance office to report absences ivasecondary@iusd.org or 949-936-7400. Please refer to our IVA Video Conferencing Etiquette Agreement in our Parent/Student Handbook.
Irvine Parent Education Programs (IPEP) are FREE seminars and educational workshops offered to Irvine parents/guardians throughout the school year. Our goal is to empower parents/guardians with the skills and strategies necessary to become active participants in their student’s education. IPEP offers a variety of workshops focused on topics important to parents/guardians of IUSD students. Experienced instructors and district-level representatives facilitate the interactive workshops, engaging participants in conversations and hands-on activities. Naviance- Naviance is a web-based platform designed to help you discover personal strengths and talents, explore careers, research colleges and stay on track to reach your post-secondary goals. Click HERE for more info.
High School Quarter Grades are now available to view in the Aeries Parent Portal. Teachers have reported grades and/or comments for each of their classes. Students who have earned a D or F for this grading period, or who need additional support should attend teacher Advisement on Wednesday's and Thursday's with that course specific teacher. Students will check in with their home Advisement and then be able to log into the course they need.
IVC Spotligh Week- IUSD high schools have partnered with Irvine Valley College (IVC) to provide one week of informational college presentations specifically tailored to IUSD high school students, parents, and guardians. Daily sessions will be offered virtually starting November 15th, 4:30-5:30pm. Please click HERE for more details and to register.

Looking for social opportunities for students?
Let’s Do Lunch- Does your student want to meet up with friends at lunch? Do they need help with an assignment or need to work on a group project? Or do they just want to meet new people? Let’s Do Lunch! We open a Zoom during lunchtime every Tuesday-Friday to allow students to meet up with friends and classmates at lunch. They can stay in the main room to chat or get help on an assignment. Or they can move to a Breakout room with friends or other students with common interests. We’d love for them to bring their lunch and stop in to check it out!
City of Irvine- Middle School Programs- Middle School Program (MSP): MSP provides a variety of lunch time, after school programs, individual recreation classes and community service programs. MSP is developed in part with student input and provides students opportunities to participate in exciting and creative activities. Students may participate in programs, activities, classes and camps with their neighborhood middle school. www.yourirvine.org/

Middle School Youth Action Team (YAT): YAT is an after-school community service based program that encourages students to be actively involved in their community. YAT is a great way to earn volunteer hours, get involved, learn new skills, make new friends and make a difference in the community.
IVA MS YAT Meetings will be held October 19th-December 7th, Tuesdays (Virtually) from 4.30-5.30pm.
Cost $10: Includes YAT t-shirt, project supplies and end of session certificate.
