MST Weekly Update
February 2, 2024

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
As we enter the month of February, we are now into the second half of the school year. Today, Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog did not see his shadow. According to the legend, if he does not see his shadow, we can expect an early spring. We shall see!
We had a busy week here at MST. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we hosted over 300 students from Central, Memorial, West, Bedford, Goffstown, Londonderry and Kreiva Academy who came to tour our CTE center to decide if they want to come here for a CTE program next year. Thank you to all of our CTE teachers who opened up their classrooms for the tours and thank you to our many student ambassadors who guided the tours. It went very well, and we heard many positive comments from those who attended.
Next week will also be busy with report cards being distributed, an open house Thursday night for 8th graders and for prospective CTE students, and three informational sessions about the Manchester School District Course Catalog. More information about these events is detailed below.
Course Selection for 2024-25
From February 12th-16th, all 9th, 10th and 11th grade students will be selecting their classes for next year. Teachers will be making recommendations next week to help guide their course selections. All 9th graders will be selecting the Career and Technology Education (CTE) program that they wish to be in for the next two years. A student must successfully complete 9th grade to be enrolled in a CTE.
Here is the 2024-25 Course Catalog for the Manchester School District. All CTE classes are listed under Career and Technical Education (pages 33-41) and MST High School courses are on pages 106-119.
If you have any questions about the course catalog, there will be three informational sessions next week.

Quarter 2 Report Cards
Video Production Field Trip
Recently, Mr. Lord’s Video and Digital Media students got a chance to tour one of the premier production studios in New England at StudioLab in Derry. Students visited the podcast studio, recording studio, the surround sound mixing studio, and the XR virtual reality studio. They got to talk to professionals as they demonstrated the latest technologies in live production and studio production. Students got to ask questions and learn about job shadowing and internship opportunities. They even got to learn about how AI is beginning to interact with technology and creation in this field.
8th Grade/CTE Open House
On Thursday February 8th, we will holding our annual open house for any 8th grade student, and their parents/guardians, who is interested in attending MST High School next year.
This evening is also the open house to come and visit our Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs. The event is for any 9th or 10th grade student from any Manchester high school as well as Bedford, Goffstown and Londonderry. It is an opportunity for students to see the classrooms, meet the teachers and ask questions that will help them to decide which 2-year program is best for them.
The open house will be from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. We hope to see many of you there.
