Sunday Message
Week of September 19, 2022
Message from Mrs. Reams
Randolph Families,
It was great to see so many of you at the GHS football game on Friday night. Randolph was well represented in the stands! I hope everyone had a great weekend.
This week we officially welcome fall. A number of after school activities begin this week, so be sure to email transportation adjustments to roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us if your child is staying after school. As mentioned in last week's Sunday message, we conducted a lockdown drill this past week. All of our students and staff did a wonderful job! Speaking of safety, when you come to pick up your child for an early dismissal, please be sure to have identification with you. Thank you to all of our families who have welcomed our additional safety measures. We appreciate you!

County Wide News
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Did you know that absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year? Half of the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school, making themselves chronically absent. Please have your students attend school unless they are sick, and if they are absent, communicate this with the front office at roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us.
A Fire-Rescue Show is planned for Saturday evening, October 8th, starting at 6 p.m. at Goochland High School in the back parking lot. We are planning an evening of fire and EMS demonstrations for our citizens and children, also the kicking off of Fire Prevention Week. A small fireworks show is planned for the end of the evening. This is a great opportunity to promote community risk reduction, while showcasing the department. Please consider coming out and spending an evening with your local Firefighters and EMS providers.
Parents’ Night Out sponsored by the Goochland High School Drama Department
