Spring Term 1, Week 4
A Word from Mr Broom
Next week is Children's Mental Health Week, and we've lots planned to mark the occasion. I'm hearing from lots of parents that children are coming home and talking more about their learning, and this is a key part of mental wellbeing as well as remembering more as we learn. Let's keep it going.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Children's Mental Health Week
Next week is children’s Mental Health Week and once again we will be making a ‘connection’ as a whole school and going for a walk together around the local area. We would very much like adult volunteers to help us on the walk and come and be part of this special school event. The walk will take place on Tuesday 6th at 1pm and we will back in school before the end of the school day.
If you or a family member would like to help please complete the form below.

On this day we would like children to come to school not in uniform, but ‘dressed to express themselves’. Please can they also bring appropriate footwear for the walk through the woods.
Thank you
Mrs Watts

Dylan reaches 1,000,000 words even faster than last year!
You know how our children love to read. Well, Dylan Carter set himself a challenge this year and this was to reach the 1 million word mark faster than he did last year. He's absolutely smashed it! Well done Dylan. I wonder who else is going to make it this year?

Car Convos!
Talk is really important for all learners in school and we know that our children are exposed to lots of exciting learning opportunities, both at home and at school. To help develop speaking and listening skills and knowledge of the wider world, we're introducing Car Convos! A topic that we share in the newsletter on a Friday, that families can discuss in the car on their travels. We'll then pick this up after the weekend.
This week in school, we've talked about the NSPCC and what they do. Our Car Convo this week aims to build on this.

A polite reminder that we have children in school who have severe nut allergies. Please ensure that you do not bring nuts on to the school site or include them in packed lunches.
Thank you for your support with this.
Staff Shout Outs
I've had a few messages from parents/carers asking about how they can send a staff shoutout for a staff team. It's great that you think about them and really does help to raise morale.
