The Mustang Minute
Week of April 25th
FROM THE PRINCIPALS' OFFICES
Greetings Mustang families!
It was another bustling week at Brookwood schools! On Monday, our teachers enjoyed a day of professional development and collaboration. We explored new possibilities for our literacy curriculum and planned for our 3rd graders' transition to BMS next year. Our track and field students started their season this week, and our BES students are enjoying Running Club at the same time! It's also "crunch time" for our Willy Wonka cast - they are busy nearly every day after school onstage practicing lines, choreography, and of course...singing! The positivity and energy can be felt by all...we have so much to be excited about, Mustangs!
And speaking of exciting...
We'd like to also take this opportunity to highlight some exciting upcoming events:
- The Brookwood Family Bike Ride is on April 30th from 9-12 at BMS! Read on for details about this fun family event!
- The BFO Fun Fair will be on Friday, May 13th. We hope you are all looking forward to some family fun and games as much as we are! Volunteers are still needed, so if you would like to get involved, just scroll down and click the button below for the SignUp Genius page.
- Summer school is right around the corner as well...and the sign up is happening NOW! Of particular interest are a number of fun enrichment offerings happening in the month of June. Important Graduation Information for 8th Grade Families:
Team 8 sent home an additional packet of important graduation preparation information with students on Tuesday, April 19th. If you have not seen this packet, please ask your student for it. The first page of the packet is a request for three accomplishments that your student wants to be recognized for at the graduation ceremony. These can be any accomplishments they’ve had during their time at Brookwood - both in school and out of school. The second form is a Class of 2022 t-shirt order form. These two forms are due to Ms. Metcalf by Friday, April 29th.
The final page of the packet is a photo request. Please send a baby photo and another childhood photo or two of your student to Mrs. Kanthack via email: maryellen.kanthack@gcj2.k12.wi.us. These will be put together in a Class of 2022 slideshow. Please get those photos in by April 30th.
Let Ms. Metcalf know if you need another copy of this packet: jessica.metcalf@gcj2.k12.wi.us.
We are looking forward to celebrating with you in June!
Thanks,
Team 8

BMS Clothing Closet
BMS Clothing Closet is a resource for our middle school students whose families might need a little extra help with clothing needs. If your family could benefit from gently used clothing for your middle school children, please reach out to Mrs.Garrett with questions or specific needs. Mrs. Garrett will have "open" shopping hours for students on Fridays during lunch/recess time in the art room beginning on April 8th.
