Wonderful Summer!

I hope you are having a incredible summer! Many of you are involved in a variety of activities like summer school, summer bridge, college courses, traveling and relaxing. Below is a short update with opportunities, news and reflections.


The New Student Orientation will be on Saturday, August 13th from 9 - 11AM and the first day of school will be Monday, August 15th!

East Coast College Tour

Our students had the opportunity to visit 9 colleges in 6 states on the east coast during a 7 day trip this summer thanks to GearUp!

UCLA Peer Leader Camp

13 rising seniors had the opportunity to participate in the UCLA Peer Leader Camp. During this 4-day overnight program, students conquered their fears at the UCLA rope course met with a current admissions reader, and worked on their PIQs with our partners at PLUS ME. These students will continue to support their peers throughout the school year. Thank you GearUp again!!

Baseline Covid Testing

All families should pick up a Covid-19 Antigen Testing kit from August 8th through 11th. You can use this test 48 hours before the first day of school so you can make sure you are testing negative before attending!

Orientation

Are you a new student to STEM Academy? Come to STEM's New Student Orientation! Families and students will have the chance to complete enrollment paperwork, get their laptop, meet their teachers, tour the school and more!

  • We have mandatory Summer Institute PD from August 9 - 11th; agenda is forthcoming.
  • Pupil Free Day is August 12th and you are required to be on campus. Students won't be there.
  • All staff is required to be at the New Student Orientation on Saturday, August 13th from 8 to noon.
