BootUp 1:1 Technology Initiative Roll Out
Beginning in the Fall of 2023, Bastrop ISD will launch the BootUp 1:1 Technology Initiative in which all 6th grade through 12th grade students will be assigned a Chromebook to use at school and home. The BootUp 1:1 Technology Initiative is designed to support the success of our students for their future. Students will benefit from this initiative by accessing high quality instructional materials and actively practicing good stewardship of technology in all aspects, including digital citizenship and general maintenance/device care. Parents can learn about the BISD Protection Plan, which will be a $25 fee for each student in grades 6-12.
Alignment to Curriculum & Instruction
The vision of the BootUp Technology Initiative is aligned to directly support the continuous improvement of the curriculum system to ensure that students receive guaranteed access to grade-level content and high-quality instruction on every campus, every day.
Attainment Goals
To ensure the use of technology and digital learning is not only in alignment to the Bastrop ISD Strategic Plan, it is also essential for this work to be in alignment with the goals of the State of Texas. Therefore, the following goals are in direct alignment with the 2018-2025 Texas Education Agency (TEA) Technology Plan.
- Empowered Learning Environments: Empower instructional experiences with technology-rich learning environments to increase student achievement
- Digital Citizenship: Educate and reinforce responsible, safe, respectful, and legal use of technology
- Collaborative Leadership: Apply consensus-oriented decision making by multiple stakeholders to achieve shared goals
- Reliable Infrastructure: Monitor and maintain a robust and secure district-wide network to support the district’s technology initiative in elementary and secondary spaces

Get Access to STAAR Test Results
Students took the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) tests earlier this spring. The spring 2023 STAAR has been redesigned to align closer to classroom instruction and the unique way students learn. Reporting final test results for the redesigned STAAR will take a bit longer this year because educators from across the state will meet to provide their expert opinions on the passing scores for the redesigned assessment. The STAAR is one of many ways to measure student learning. Teachers will utilize STAAR results along with other information to identify learning plans to jumpstart learning next year.
You will be able to access your child’s results by logging into Skyward, starting on June 30 for High School STAAR End-of-Course, and starting on August 16 for STAAR grades 3 through 8. After logging in, you will see a link labeled “District Links” and then TEA ASSESSMENT (student name). This will take you directly to your child’s STAAR results, which will include detailed breakdowns in each subject, identifying your child’s strengths as well as areas where they may need additional support. Parents have shared that seeing which questions their child got incorrect has been the most useful. You will also see easy to use resources that can be used at home to focus on the skills your child needs the most support with.
To access your child’s test results, login to Skyward Family Access and use these instructions.
