A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Each year we invite families to our monthly celebration assemblies. The students walk in and out with their class so it is not a time when family members interact with the children but it is still fun! It is really a time when our families can experience a little bit of our culture for themselves. I wanted to provide you with the dates for the year so you could prepare ahead of time!
These assemblies are ALL at 8:35 AM. We are also happy to announce that Officer J9 will be at all of these large events. Please be patient as we sign each person in. You may want to start arriving around 8:15 so everyone can be seated in time.
September 15
October 30 (Monday for Halloween!)
November 8 (Veterans' Day Assembly, all veterans invited also!)
December 8
January 12 (Music concert featuring grades 3 and 4!!!!)
February 9
April 19 (Earth Day)
May 17
June 7 (Music concert featuring K-2!!)
Also, we do allow one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend.
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time (starting October 1). It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:15-12:40
Second Grade-12:15-12:40
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40
Have an amazing weekend!
Michelle Pitts, Principal

REF: Rye Educational Foundation Needs Help!
The Rye Education Foundation funds unique educational opportunities for Rye students.
In a typical year, the interest earned from its $1 million endowment with the New Hampshire
Charitable Foundation allows REF to grant approximately $40,000 to RES and RJH, which
funds programs requested by teachers, staff and principals. During the 2022/23 school year
REF funded 23 grants for a total of $71,778! REF is looking for Grants Committee volunteers to work with teachers in both Rye schools. On the Grants Committee, volunteers have the opportunity to communicate directly and build relationships with teachers and staff. It is a great way to get involved with our two incredible schools.
To explore some of the grants funded by REF through the years, please check out our website
www.RyeEducationFoundation.org. We also invite any interested parents to join us at this year’s kick-off meeting with the REF Board and Grants Committee on the evening of Monday,
September 18th.
For more information about volunteer opportunities with REF and the meeting
details, email co-chairs Katie Jones and Stephanie Tabit at refgrantscommittee@gmail.com.
Thank you for your interest in the Rye Education Foundation!
