Redesign of Lakota's Website
We will be redesigning the Special Services Department section on Lakota's website. This is a great opportunity for us to consider adding pertinent information we'd like staff and community to be able to access. Some examples are: videos, photo gallery, important documents and forms, a section for department news etc.
We would like for you to begin looking at surrounding district websites, the special services page, and document what you like about their page. You will want to pay particular attention to forms, documents and links.
MD Caseloads
Lynda will share the caseloads for the K-8 MD classrooms for the 16-17 SY at the Assistant Principal meeting this week. Andrea is still working on the High School lists. These lists will also be sent out to all related services staff members.
How are we doing compared to surrounding districts?

Dr. Cathy Pratt
Cathy will be presenting to all Instructional Aides on March 15th. This will take place in the Community Room at East HS. The focus of this presentation will address how
to address challenging behavior with students on the Autism Spectrum.
Sabrina Hubert is sending out the flyer.
Changes to the Vicki Curtis Scholarship
There will be a change made to the Vicki Curtis Scholarship Award beginning this school year. The scholarship committee decided to donate $1,000 each year toward an initiate that Special Services is working on. The Special Services Director will be responsible for identifying which initiative the money will be directed toward. This year’s donation will support the Co-Teaching Initiative which will allow staff to attend professional development, Marilyn Friend's Co-Teaching training. The Vicki Curtis Donation will be recognized at the beautiful Work Study breakfast this spring. Thank you Donna!
Student Support Needs Rubric
We will begin making decisions regarding staffing needs for the 16-17 SY beginning this month. Please remind staff to fill out one Student Needs Rubric on each student assigned to their caseload. These rubrics are to be sent to Kathy Williams.
