Kindergarten Enrollment is Now Open!
Registration is now open for students beginning Kindergarten in the 2022-23 school year. Incoming Kindergarten students must turn five on or before September 1, 2022.
To complete online registration, please click here. During online registration, new families will create a Sherwood ParentVUE account. Parents of current and former Sherwood students will log in with their existing ParentVUE account. If you encounter any issues with completing the online registration process, please contact your child’s school:

Hawks View - 503-825-5400
Middleton - 503-825-5300
Ridges - 503-825-5700
Families are also welcome to register using paper registration. Paper registration packets can be picked up from the front office at your child’s school.
Free Vision Screening for Elementary Students
Our district will be offering a free vision screening to all elementary students on the following dates:
Hawks View - Thursday, April 7th
Ridges - Monday, April 11th
Archer Glen - Tuesday, April 12th
Middleton - Friday, April 15th
This screening will be done by members of the Lions Club using the SPOT screening devices. The test is painless, is completed from a distance, and does not touch your child’s eyes or face.
Results are returned to the district in about a week, and most children pass the exam. Due to the volume of paperwork only those students who receive “not passing” results will be provided with results paperwork in student backpack mail. If you would like to receive a copy of “passing” results, please contact your school. Screening results for all students will also go in their school file.
If you do not want your child to have the vision screening (opt-out), please contact your school office in advance. If you have any questions about the vision screening please call Health Services at 503-825-5088.
Financial assistance may be available for families whose students require an eye exam and/or glasses as a follow up to this vision screening.

Fentanyl Awareness
Earlier this week, the District shared a message with families about the dangers of fake pills that look like prescription medications like Xanax or OxyContin, which actually contain Fentanyl. As we stated in that message, the District team is finalizing plans to teach lessons later this spring to secondary students on the dangers of fake pills containing Fentanyl.
Tragically, over the weekend, two teens died in Portland, and police believe that Fentanyl from fake pills was the reason. The Oregonian wrote an article earlier this week that provides more information. Please review this information, share it with your students as appropriate for your family.
