Friday, April 2nd is a Half day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:37.

Three students from CJH have been named local winners in the 52nd annual America & Me Essay Contest, sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance.

The three students, who earned the first, second and third place awards for their school are Aubrey Stevens, first, Callen Hickmon, second, and Hunter Pounders, third. All three received award certificates for their achievement. As the school's first place winner, Aubrey's name will also be engraved on a plaque for permanent display in our school.

As Spring Break approaches we want to remind families to continue to be vigilant in the fight against Covid-19. Please continue to complete the daily health screener on your child before school and keep them home if they are exhibiting any symptoms.

When we return from Spring Break we will begin our Spring State Testing. All students in Grades 6-8 will participate in the State Testing. Testing Dates will be as follows:

Are your children safe while online? Michigan families, especially minors, are becoming inundated with advertisements from alcohol, tobacco, pornography and gambling marketers through different internet and cell phone inboxes. Texting their advertisements is the newest marketing effort that many of these companies are using. Thankfully, the State of Michigan offers a free program to stop adult advertisements from reaching e-mails, mobile phones (text messaging ads) and instant messenger IDs. The Michigan Child Protection Registry, like the federal Do Not Call List, is a free do-not-contact service for Michigan’s families and can be located at www.ProtectMIChild.com.

As a strong supporter of this registry, I would like to encourage you to sign your entire family up for the registry and inform your friends and colleagues about how they can protect children and families from unwanted adult advertising. On Thursday, March 25th students that have brought their Chromebook to school charged every day for 3rd marking period, were rewarded with an ice cream social. Coming to class with a Chromebook charged is as important as bringing your pencil and book. Students that are consistently prepared for class perform better in classes. Congratulations to all of our students that earned this reward! #CometPride

When any adult is picking up a student during the school day, we do require that you enter the building and provide a Photo ID upon pick up. Adults must also be listed as a Contact for a child when being picked up as well. Our first priority is always student safety, thank you for helping keep your child safe.

The Go Green Winner for 3rd Marking Period is Tucker Arend! Congratulations Tucker, you are the proud new owner of a gaming chair! Tucker qualified for the drawing by having 100% of his assignments in for 3rd Marking Period. Great Work!

For 4th Marking Period, your child can qualify for a Movie Reward with all qualifiers. Be sure to check PowerSchool frequently to help your child stay on track.

Just a reminder that students are only allowed to use their cell phones during their lunch period during the school day. Anytime outside of lunch, students should have their phones powered off and in their backpack or locker.

Parents - if you need to contact your child, we are happy to get a message to them. Please don't text your child during the school day.
