PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Greetings Eagle Crest Families!
As we approach the final week of school before the winter break, I'd like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated family volunteers. Throughout this year, our school has been fortunate to have a continuous flow of volunteers contributing their time and efforts within our classrooms. Their support ranges from helping teachers with preparations and engaging with students in reading activities to organizing Thursday Folders and much more.
This school year we have trained over 60 new volunteers through our established and effective volunteer training program. We conducted thorough and informative training sessions to instill the necessary skills and to reinforce safety norms in our school environment. The positive feedback we've received from families, staff, and students has been truly uplifting, and we are enthusiastic about continuing to welcome adult volunteers into our school community.
I am pleased to announce that we will be offering the volunteer training program again in January on the following dates:
- January 16th, 9-9:30 am (school library), 10:30-11 am (remote)
- January 17th, 6-6:30 pm (remote)
- January 18th, 2:30-3 pm (school library)
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
As we head into Winter Break and the halfway point of our school year, we want to thank everyone for helping us keep Eagle Crest a healthy and safe place for students to learn. Your support to keep students home when they are sick helps keep everyone learning and growing!
If your child has needed to miss school due to illness or vacation this year, we want to do everything we can to help them avoid missing any more school after Winter Break. Students who miss more than seventeen days (10%) in a school year are considered "chronically absent" and that impacts their ability to be ready for the next grade level. You can learn more about the significant impact school attendance has on a student’s ability to read by third grade in the images below.
If you need any support to improve your child's attendance, please reach out to us!
Warmly,
Lindsey
P.S. - We have been tracking our school-wide attendance each day in our main hallway. Below you can see how our attendance percentage has progressed so far this year.

HEALTH ROOM DONATION REQUEST
Our health room, a space dedicated to the well-being of our students, is in need of spare pants for those unexpected moments that can happen during the school day. To ensure the comfort and dignity of our little ones, we kindly ask for donations of pants in a variety of sizes, with a particular emphasis on smaller sizes. Your thoughtful contributions will make a significant difference in providing a nurturing and caring environment for all our students. Thank you for your ongoing support.
