Wishing Windom Families the Happiest of Holiday Seasons!
Happy Holidays to the Windom Community! Students and staff at Windom Schools have had an amazing first half to the school year. We appreciate your support and wish you the BEST Holiday Season this year!
Sports Medicine
Beginning January 1, 2023, Windom Area Schools will be partnering with Windom Area Health (WAH) to provide sports medicine services to student athletes during B Squad, JV, and Varsity home games. WAH will provide staff such as a physical therapist, athletic trainer, nurse practitioner, or doctor of medicine to administer first aid and emergency care, taping, injury evaluation, and followup care coordination, if requested. We look forward to partnering with Windom Area Health to provide Sports Medicine Services. This is a HUGE WIN for our student athletes and athletic programs.
Toro Green Space Enhancement Grant for the Environmental Center
The Land, Water,Thrive Green Space Enhancement Toro Grant for $100,000 was awarded to Windom Schools. This grant will be used to replace the bridge in the Environmental Center, clean up the brush, create an outdoor classroom, light the trails, and place benches and picnic tables in the wooded area. In addition, Eagle Path will be making two small permanent docks so that the science classes can collect water samples. THANK YOU to TORO for supporting our schools!
Best Wishes to Don Brugman
Don Brugman has served on the Windom School Board for 26 years and is retiring on December 31.
Don has been a member of the school board who passed several referendums, both operating and building project bonds. During his tenure, the board achieved a new Elementary School in 2020, an addition to the CTE Center in 2020, and a Middle School addition in 2001.
In addition to his service on the Windom School Board, Don served on the SWWC Board of Directors for 20 years. He currently serves as the clerk, is a member of the Finance Committee, and has previously chaired the Finance and Policy Committees.
Don has been a trustworthy, dependable, and knowledgable member of the Windom School Board and we’d like to recognize him for the years of leadership he’s provided to our community. Thank you to Don for all the years of service to Windom Students, Families, and the Community!
